Organised by Jurong Central Citizens' Consultative Committee, Project Hand-in-Hand aims to help residents living in one- and two-room rental blocks in the Jurong Central constituency. Piloted in April 2018, residents are able to receive $30 worth of food and basic necessities every month in the form of vouchers.
On Saturday 29th September 2018, Goldbell participated in Project Hand-in-Hand. It was graced by Mr Ang Wei Neng, Advisor for Jurong GRC GRDs, where he gave a short speech to open the event.
Our staff volunteered and extended a helping hand with the redemption of food and basic necessities, packing and assisting the elderly during the redemption. Some of us even escorted the elderly back to their houses with their items.
There were some fringe activities such as free haircuts, mini job recruitment fairs and low-cost tuition programmes for the residents to take part too.
The Goldbell volunteers had a fulfilling time contributing to our society and helping those who need an extra hand!
